Our Mission
Winthrop High School is dedicated to each member of its student body the opportunity to achieve academic excellence in a safe environment. We believe that all students possess the capacity to learn; and that each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. We actively engage our students in developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. By encouraging our students to become confident, self-directed life-long learners, we seek to connect their personal growth to academic excellence. We seek to foster a climate of shared responsibility among students, faculty, administration, parents, and the community-at-large..

GLobal Outreach
WHS Students for Global Outreach

Our three WHS Students traveling to Nicaragua this summer would like to thank the Gorman Fort Banks, A.T. Cummings and WHS families who have donated thus far to their fund raising efforts.

Your generous donations of summer clothing, sneakers, dental hygiene items, glasses and school supplies will be brought over in July as part of the student global outreach program. Collection bins will remain in the schools until the end of May (Fort - Rm 334 Ms. Fitzpatrick, Cummings - Rm 326 Mrs. Dykens and the WHS lobby). June donations can be dropped off at Letterie’s Market in Winthrop center.

Cloth diapers, vitamin C/children's vitamins and small toys (jump ropes, chalk, bubbles, match box cars etc) would also be appreciated.

Financial donations help purchase bikes ($100), mattresses (3" foam$20), care packages ($20), pigs ($30) chicks ($1) and shoes ($8). The hope is to be able provide a large number of families with these type of necessity items.

Feel free to email us for more information as to how you can help us help them!
