Letter to Residents from the Town Manager
No School Thursday, January 29th

Dear Parents, Staff and Friends,

There will be no school on Thursday, January 29, 2015.† As you are aware this historic storm has grounded us.† With that said I want you all to know that our custodial staff and DPW are workikng around the clock to have the schools ready for Friday.† Tomorrow I will give periodic updates on both our web page and our Facebook page regarding Friday's status.

Due to the impending storm, †Dinner Theatre performances†have been†cancelled tonight, tomorrow and
Wednesday at the Prince House of Pizza. They will perform this Thursday, January 29th, and next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (February 2, 3, and 4) at 7pm. We apologize for any inconvenience and we'll be keeping you up to date with any further information. †Thank you.†

Extra Curricular Tutoring Program
Extra Curricular Tutoring Program
Through the generosity of the Viking Pride organization Winthrop High School will be offering academic support for all students involved with extracurricular activities in a before school tutoring program. The intent of this program is to provide students with an opportunity to work with highly qualified WHS teachers in the areas of Math, Science, English and Social Studies.

The tutoring will take place before school in the WHS library from 7:00am-8:00am on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. All extracurricular students are welcome to come to the tutoring program on a drop-in or regular basis depending on their academic needs.

SAT Prep Class
SAT Prep Class
Mr. Parsons and Mr. Beck will be running an SAT prep class for students taking the SATs. It will run Tuesdays 3:15pm-7:15pm 2/24/15-4/28/15.

National History Day Night
NHD Night
On Wednesday, February 4th between 5 and 6 pm, the Winthrop High School Social Studies Department will be displaying the 2015 National History Day Projects created by students in social studies classes, grades 9-12. Family, friends, and community are invited to view student projects and to speak with students. The fair will take place on the second floor of the High School.
