Our Mission
Winthrop High School is dedicated to each member of its student body the opportunity to achieve academic excellence in a safe environment. We believe that all students possess the capacity to learn; and that each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs. We actively engage our students in developing their critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. By encouraging our students to become confident, self-directed life-long learners, we seek to connect their personal growth to academic excellence. We seek to foster a climate of shared responsibility among students, faculty, administration, parents, and the community-at-large..

Project Bethlehem
Project Bethlehem

†This year, Winthrop High School is participating in Project Bethlehem. Project Bethlehem is an initiative out of Lawrence, MA, which provides the holiday experience for less fortunate families. In the past we have done Toys for Tots, which focused on toys for kids in need. This year, however, necessary items like clothes, shoes, as well as toys will be accepted. Students are expected to wrap the items they wish to donate and all items must be new. Please email Mr. Nickerson at mnickerson@winthrop.k12.ma.us if you have any questions.
